Hello everyone! Just wanted to give you another little life update. I took an online class a week or so ago and am diving into the world of graphic design! GAH! I had a few things recently that I wanted designed and tried to go through Fiverr to get it done. Have you heard of Fiverr? It’s a website where you pay $5 for… well, anything you want really. There are lots of graphic designers available there who will make logos, web graphics, design your business card, make a blog header, etc. But as with most things in life, you get what you pay for (imagine how much time you would spend designing something for only $5…) Or, if you want something fancier, you may end up paying more for customization. This method just wasn’t cutting it for me anymore.
Enter Jones Design Company. Emily is a graphic designer with excellent taste and an adorable blog that I follow regularly. She often posts cute paper goods and printables that she has designed using Adobe Illustrator. She occasionally offers a series of videos teaching the Illustrator basics, so when I saw it pop up on her blog, I purchased it and downloaded a free trial of Illustrator to get started. I still have so, so much to learn, but I have had lots of fun playing around with it. Subscribing to Illustrator would be a big investment, but after seeing all the fun things I can do with it, I’m almost convinced to purchase it.
You need to check out all the adorable stuff Emily has put together! Most of it is available for free for you to print at home!
Since taking the class, I have been playing around with an infographic for our airbnb guests, some baby shower decor, and most recently, I designed a really simple weekly workout schedule template, that I am happy to share with you guys today! I have been trying to amp up my exercise routine lately, and this is the perfect motivator! The template gives you space to track your daily workouts 2 weeks at a time, giving space to write what you did and for how long. And of course it includes some super cute colors. Print it out on some cardstock and stick it to your wall with a few pieces of washi tape and BAM instant motivator to get up and fill in those days of the week!
Here is the PDF for you to print and use for yourself (colors will print differently than they appear, promise) : Workout calendar
In addition to this fun calendar, I’m trying out some podcasts to listen to while I’m running. What do you guys do to get motivated to work out? Any fun podcasts I should start following?
Super exciting post coming next week, keep your eyes open for it!
