Daniel and I have been thinking about a travel trailer for a few weeks now, looking at blogs and watching Youtube videos to see what others have done to remodel these old guys. Daniel loves the super-detailed geeks who talk you through every minute detail of their trailer repairs. I, of course, love the pretty blogs with the pretty staged trailer pictures. Keep reading to see 4 of my favorite travel trailer inspirations!
1 I found out about these Smart Tiles from a designer on Instagram and I think they are a great idea for our kitchen backsplash area. They are super lightweight and seem very easy to install. Unfortunately, it looks like the hexagon design is discontinued, so I may have to keep hunting for something similar.
2 Our trailer came with 2 sets of bronze sconces similar to this one. I’m hoping to clean them up and reuse them on either side of our bed for reading lights.
3 We will likely be doing some type of laminate or cork flooring in the trailer. We need something that is lightweight and inexpensive and laminate does the trick. I love the light wood and grey stain tones.
4 I would love to find a narrow vintage runner like this one to span the length of the trailer, but we still need to do some measuring to see if one will fit.
5 We will, of course, need some fun throw pillows like these for our bed/couch area and possibly the dining bench area as well. These cuties from Anthropologie are amazing!
6 The trailer didn’t come with any cushions, so I will be starting from scratch on those. I am imagining them in a grey striped linen for the dining bench seats.
7 After having made one quilt this past winter, I am dying to make another. I found out about Courtney Hiemerl from Country Living Magazine and would love to give her faded star quilt a try.
8 I absolutely LOVE this Spoonflower wallpaper. This would be a fun way to accent a single wall or maybe the walls and ceiling around our bed.
9 We are hoping to reuse some of the original cabinet doors. They are in surprisingly good shape and I want to try updating them with some beadboard sheets, trim and lots of white paint!
10 These drawer pulls and some matching knobs would be so fun on white cabinets.
11 Daniel is really pushing for a bamboo countertop. I like the light wood look, so I think it’s a good way to go.
12 I love the look of this bronze faucet, or something similar. We are trying to reuse the original stainless sink and I wonder how that combination of metals will look, though.
13 We absolutely need to have some green plants in the trailer, I love these tiny hanging planters!

Local Color XC This young couple remodeled a tiny trailer and are traveling the country for a year in it! Kudos to them! I love how they used a small space so wisely and that they tried to reuse some of the original items and materials. They really make a trailer reno look do-able!
Lynne Knowlton has done a fabulous job with her airstream interior. You can actually rent her space on Airbnb on her property in Canada! I love all the bright, bright whites with pops of colors. The wallpaper and bronze fixtures are amazing.

Vintage Revivals also renovated a super tiny trailer, and the blog has a ton of valuable info about painting, installing, and repairs in a vintage trailer. I love the high shelf with all the plants and the bright accent wall above the dining area.
Love, Sarah Schneider– this is the most amazing trailer interior I have ever seen. Another airstream, this time in collaboration with none other than Anthropologie. While somewhat impractical in many ways, the furnishings are fabulous. All the curtains and pillows and rugs are so, so great. You can see that hexagon backsplash in the kitchen area that I love so much. The light wood floors are lovely with the white walls and again, that pop of wallpaper is just the best.
So there you have it, our current design ideas and some amazing, drool-worthy travel trailer inspiration.
